There are questions that we get asked frequently and yours may be on this list as well! Otherwise, feel free to contact us by heading to our homepage. Please note that when not sure, the best course of action is to consult with your attorney or probation officer.
Most likely, for a first offense DUI (or DWI or equivalent) in TN you will have to complete a 12 hour DUI / Prime For Life class and a Victim’s Impact panel (at BRS we offer both together). In some cases, you might also have to complete an Alcohol & Drug Assessment.
Depending on the specifics of your case, this can be several different things. An all-day anger management, a weekly anger management, or a Batterer’s Intervention program. Possibly also an Alcohol & Drug Assessment or a Mental Health Evaluation. If you were told it’s going to last 26 weeks (6 months), then it it is certainly the BIP (state mandated; it can also be 52 weeks). Anything less than that and it’s likely anger management.
In short, no. You pick a day you usually wish to attend. If you miss one session (for whatever reason), you can make up by attending the next available one. For example, if you miss Wednesday anger management, you can attend the very next Saturday. Afterwards, you can resume attending Wednesdays.
That would be falsifying records and therefore illegal. The dates always reflect when the service was received / completed. You will likely have to retake the class or assessment.
No. You will have to re-enroll and pay for the classes in order to receive the certificate.
It depends. For our weekly classes, you can keep a balance up to $75 after the first session. If you’re not over that amount, you may still attend. For the all-day classes, we ask you to pay a downpayment of $30 in order to attend and you can pay the remainder of the balance at a later date. For the SAP process, you can pay half up front. Any Assessments or Evaluations must be paid in full at the time of the appointment (or before).
Not anymore (some previous clients ruined that option). We can only give you your certificate and / or notify a P.O. or attorney of your completion if your balance is paid in full. Otherwise, you are considered not complete.
We will bill you at your mailing address three times. If you change addresses it is your responsibility to let us know. Afterwards, your bill will be sent to collections.
We can only give you an estimate until we bill your insurance and get a response from them. Every insurance policy is different, so if you want to know exactly, you can call your insurance provider and ask for the service that you will be receiving.
Generally, no. We often have it available within a few days at the most. However, there are times when we are very busy, or, we are awaiting to hear back from a case manager (or other) for some collaborative information.
Depends on the initial evaluation (your specific case) and what the recommendations are. It can take anywhere from a week up to a few months.
We accept BlueCare and TennCare Select and UHC Community Plan for all of our services that insurance will pay for. We currently do not accept amerigroup at all. Please see “our services” page for more information.
For commercial insurances, yes. You can tell us that you would prefer to pay for a service with cash price rather than utilize your insurance. Same is true if we don’t currently take your commercial insurance. However, for any kind of TennCare, we can work with you if we accept your insurance or otherwise, we have to refer you out. This does not apply for services that insurance does not cover. Please see “our services” page for more information.
No – you have the right to choose who you want to complete the service with. Depending on the service you’re seeking, there are other companies that provide them as well. It is also entirely possible that our schedule is not compatible with yours. Either way, you will not be penalized if you don’t choose us, but we appreciate your business if you do!
Usually yes, but we will need some kind of proof to give you credit. Either directly from the facility where you were doing the classes, or some other proof of attendance.
Similar to the question above, absolutely. Please note that you will not be given credit for any sessions that you’ve not paid for yet.
Yes! If you reschedule the appointment, you will not be penalized for it. The completed paperwork will remain valid and any payments will as well. We ask you to let us know ahead of time. Please note that the all-day classes are only available once (or twice) a month.
It depends. If you’ve attended the class / received the service, then we cannot refund you. Similarly, if we’ve given you a workbook or otherwise assisted with paperwork or something else, we may withhold up to $60 and return the rest. Finally, if you’ve done all of your paperwork online and paid for the class, but have not attended, received any workbooks or other services, we may refund you in full.
